Knott’s Berry Farm theme
park attraction, located on Beach Boulevard in Buena Park
has come a long way since Mrs. Knott first started serving
chicken dinners in 1934. While it is known as a modern venue
where thrill rides are described as "the best", "largest",
and "fastest" Knott’s still manages to retain the simplicity
of its roots. There is a good reason Ghost Town
is in the center of the Park- this is where it all began.
This exciting attraction, one of 6 diverse venues, welcomes
you aboard a real live Butterfield stagecoach and a narrow
gauge steam train in an authentic wildwest town. You can twist
and turn on GhostRider, pan for gold, and maybe
watch the good guys shoot-it-out with some desperadoes (all
before lunch!).
There
is a very special venue for any age group that loves Snoopy
and his pals. Located near the Grand Entrance, Camp
Snoopy offers more than 30 kid-size rides, shows and
attractions that will have them truckin’, cruising, bouncing
and imitating that famous Flying Ace. Plenty of child-friendly
foods are available plus a chance to visit Peanut’s Playhouse
and maybe see Snoopy himself.
The
Boardwalk draws thrill seekers of all ages. Reminiscent
of California beach culture this Knott’s
attraction presents 9 rides including Supreme Scream-
30 stories up and what goes up must come down-and Xcelerator
known as the world’s best launch rollercoaster. This is the
place to grab a burger or shake at Coasters Diner and check
out the surfer duds.
Prepare
to get wet when you brave Bigfoot Rapids and
shoot through the white water and duck under waterfalls in
Wild Water Wilderness. Time to catch your breath?
For a change of pace we suggest Indian Trails
the only Knott’s attraction
without rides. Exciting live performances by Native American
and Aztec dancers, singers and musicians are presented onstage.
Be sure and check out the handmade crafts that are available
for sale as well as a variety of Native American foods such
as fry bread and Navajo tacos. Jaguar, Montezooma’s Revenge
and even a merry-go-round welcome the guest to Fiesta Village.
This tribute to Spanish California invites you to explore
Mexican cuisine on a shady patio (kids can ogle the candy
at Joe Cool’s Sugar Shack).
Knott’s
presents special seasonal happenings throughout the year such
as a Spring Crafts Festival, Snoopy On Ice, Extreme Wheels
Live, and spooky Halloween activities plus many others. Go
to http://www.knotts.com/park/calendar/index.shtml
for a calendar of events and see what coincides with your
visit.
Guests
can just visit Mrs.
Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant, California MarketPlace
and Independence Hall and pay no Park admission
plus have 3 hour free parking. Try and schedule time to visit
the exact replica of Independence Hall- there is a great show
given by performers in period dress.
